Do it mountain wall mural
work out the highest point of the mural, aiming for it to be off-centre from a headboard or sofa. using a long straight edge, draw the first mountain shape in pencil. once you are happy, arrange and draw out more mountain peaks either side of the tallest one. Position narrow decorator’s tape along your pencil outlines. then use the tape to criss cross random shapes within the mountain peak. don’t forget to tape off any skirting, too, to protect from paint. Choose three tonal colours of matt emulsion paint, grading from dark to light. Starting with the darkest shade at the bottom and working up towards the top with the lightest, paint inside the random shapes. Paint a second coat if required. once completely dry (allow a minimum of four hours), carefully peel away the tape to reveal your mural.
