‘we’ve kept its period charm’

Faced with very dated decor, Hamah returned her bathroom to its previous grandeur

ABOUT ME

i’m hamah turner, 34, and i live with my husband ben, 35, and our daughter iris, two, in a four-bedroom victorian semi in hastings, east Sussex. We bought the house in November 2017.

MY CHALLENGE

the previous owner had lived here for almost 50 years, so the decor was very dated. there was a bathroom and separate toilet, which wasn’t practical for us.

MY WISH LIST

the bathroom in our last house was tiny, so we wanted as much space as possible. We’re both tall, so a top priority was a walk-in shower as well as a bath. it was also important to us to come up with a design that suited the house’s age.
