Try your hand at... appliqué

Style at Home (UK) - - TIME AT HOME -

Appliqué is a fantastic first venture into crafting with textiles. It involves the simple process of layering pieces of fabric to form a picture or pattern and projects can be as easy or intricate as you like. Fabrics such as felt are a great place to start, as they are inexpensive and don’t fray. Your fabric can be fixed to the backing in a number of creative ways – try decorative embroidery stitches like blanket, zigzag and satin, either by hand or using a sewing machine. Have fun experimenting with textures, colours and scale.
