UPCYCLE KITCHEN UNITS
Remove cabinet doors and drawers, then unscrew the old handles. Wash the cabinet surfaces with sugar soap. Sand and apply a layer of undercoat. Let dry.
Apply specialist kitchen paint that’s designed to withstand heat and steam. Leave to dry then follow with a second coat.
Measure the distance between the two holes on the handles. This is the ‘fixing centre’, which will usually be a standard size, making it easy to find a replacement.
If your handles don’t fit the original holes, fill them in with wood putty, repaint then drill new holes for your updated handles.
