CHOOSE YOUR FLOORING
Search for a material that works with the overall look of your kitchen – this could mean mirroring the worktops or trying a dramatic contrast. Find samples that you can take home and view in different lights in the room.
Make sure you don’t overrun your budget.
Don’t go too trendy – it may not work in your scheme and may also date more quickly than you think.
Consider durability. Well-used areas need flooring that will last and is reasonably low maintenance – try ceramic, slate, vinyl, laminate.
Be clever with patterns – plain tiles can be laid in a herringbone style, or try hexagonal shapes for something fun.
