Do it! EASY GILDING

1 Gilding can be used to update metal. Historically done with gold leaf, these days you can buy imitation leaf in a variety of colours, such as bronze and silver. 2 Before you start, make sure there is no grease or dirt and the surface is completely clean. Apply a suitable primer to ensure the gold layer has an appropriate surface to rest on. 3 Apply a water-based adhesive. When it becomes tacky, you are ready to apply your leaf. 4 Carefully apply the leaf and use a soft-hair brush to remove excess leaf and polish the surface.
