Make it! SHELF AND RAIL

Find a piece of wood you like, whether it is salvaged or cut to size at a wood yard. Select a length of rail that fits your measurements.

Choose solid wooden brackets so you can drill a hole through. Depending on the shelf length you may need more than two brackets.

Measure the rail circumference and mark on each bracket exactly where the hole for the rail should be, then carefully drill to size.

Finally, fit the brackets to the wall, secure the wood to the top to make the shelf and thread the rail through the prepared holes.
