PAINT A GEO MURAL DESIGN

-

Work out the highest point of the mural, aiming for it to be off-centre from the headboard. With a long straight edge, draw the first mountain shape in pencil, adding more either side. Use Frog Tape to cover your pencil outlines and to add criss-cross shapes within the peak. Pick three tones of matt emulsion, darkest at the bottom and working up to the lightest. When the paint is dry, peel off the tape.

Divide diagonally

Children’s bedrooms are the ideal canvas on which to experiment with paint effects. All you need is a decent masking tape to help you achieve those crisp lines – we rate Frog Tape every time. You could create ‘mountain peaks’ across the wall, or something simpler, like this diagonal line between two pretty colours. It’s an easy way to combine a child’s favourite shades if they can’t decide on one! If the bedroom is being shared, you could even use paint to demarcate whose bit of the room is whose. Find out their preferred colours then you can use paint charts from DIY stores to pick out the versions of each colour that will work best together. Finish by using leftover paint to upcycle furniture and coordinate it with the new wall colours.
