GO BIG To make a small space stand out, opt for floor tiles with a simple yet eye-catching pattern in a large format that will minimise the grout lines and ensure the space doesn’t look cluttered (left). In place of stone pavers, patterned tiles create interest and add contrast to what can otherwise be a bland space.

SET UP CAMP Style your outdoor seating area with all the indoor comforts – loungers, pouffes, rugs, cushions and throws – in plenty of colours and prints (above). Mix in tribal patterns in subtle summery shades for a seasonal feel.

DRESSED FOR DINNER Head outside for stylish suppers at a dining table teeming with prints. Patterned table linens and crockery featuring bold lines and shapes will take even a tiny bistro table to a more extravagant place.

PLAY WITH PAINT Brighten up a bland shed or garage wall with a coat or two of paint to create something really fabulous. Painting wide stripes onto a shed will give it beach house appeal, while going for fun geometric shapes is a great way to disguise a boring garden wall or fence.
