GET RID OF DAMP
In its simplest form, damp can be caused by condensation. As the temperature falls, condensation increases, creating moisture on windows each morning which will eventually cause mould and damp. Remove the condensation as soon as you see it as this will stop any mould from building up. Use a dry cloth, kitchen towel or a squeegee.
It might help to wipe down window frames occasionally with a fungicidal wash. It’s also a good idea to cover pans and pots when cooking to prevent steam escaping and try to keep your home at a steady temperature. Damp happens when warm air hits cold walls, so it’s important surfaces don’t get cold enough to create condensation.
