Use… soft pastel shades

Dress your room in a feminine scheme of gentle pink and peach hues

-

GO FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT Tap into a colour trend with pink accessories and decorations (left). Pink is a gorgeous, modern shade for Christmas. Try it with silver and white for a frosty feel, or warm it up with golds and rich plums.

MAKE IT ENCHANTING Set a wintry scene by teaming pretty blush pink with lots of fairy lights. Of course, entwine them in the boughs of your tree, but you can also use them to illuminate natural greenery. A white, free-standing decorative twig tree is also the perfect place to illuminate.

COORDINATE FURNITURE Of course, use your room’s existing decor, but you could also try a small furniture makeover to really bring the scheme to life. A neat drawer unit, painted in a complementing pink shade with white detailing looks utterly delightful in this festive scene (above).

GO FOR A PASTEL BACKGROUND

A subtle backdrop painted in pastel pink sets the tone for a feminine living room scheme and, while it comes alive at this time of year, it is a great colour for the room all-year round.
