Rare honour for Lewis

VERY often it is instructive to discover the view from elsewhere, and that is certainly true where the respected Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is concerned.

Each year the publication chooses a world sports person of the year, Italian competitors included. For 2018 they honoured motor racing driver Lewis Hamilton (right) as No1 – the first time that a Briton had been at the top since Daley Thompson and Seb Coe long ago in the 1980s.
