Royal cleric: Referendum bred racism

THE QUEEN’S Chaplain says she has suffered unpreceden­ted racist abuse since the Brexit referendum.

Jamaica-born Rose HudsonWilk­in, 58, said “an unpleasant­ness” had developed after the 2016 vote.

She said she believed the divisive nature of the debate contribute­d to the murder of MP Jo Cox by a Right-wing extremist.

Prebendary Hudson-Wilkin is also chaplain to the Speaker of the Commons, the first woman and black person to hold the position.
