A BIG GRIN BONUS FOR MOORE

TEEMU JUST FINN-TASTIC

-

WEST BROM swept to a deserved derby victory to leave boss Darren Moore smiling with pride.

Two first-half goals, from Hal Robson-Kanu and Jay Rodriguez, lifted the Baggies’ spirits and left Aston Villa struggling.

Moore said: “To get any three points on the road in this division is rewarding, especially at Villa Park.

“It was a joint effort. The hard work, commitment and desire shown by the players was excellent.”

Moore played down the effect of Dwight Gayle’s absence after he was banned by the Football Association for deceiving a match official.

Villa are nose-diving, with one victory at home since the 4-2 win over Birmingham City in late November.

Boss Dean Smith said: “We don’t do ourselves any favours with the goals we have given away.

“The game was there for us if we had wanted.” FABULOUS Finn Teemu Pukki notched a double as the Canaries flew to the top of the Championship. Norwich were superb, as Pukki took his league tally to 23 for the season. Marco Stiepermann (left) and Emiliano Buendia finished off the job to leave Bolton utterly outclassed.

Boss Daniel Farke was a little frustrated over a missed penalty by Clayton Donaldson but couldn’t hide his top-of-thetable delight, saying: “Now I

can give my players some time off. It’s well deserved.

“I think 63 points is a really good statistic after 33 games and we take the compliments. Our performance was really good but my feeling is that we could have added a few more goals – we should be more clinical and brutal.’’

Bolton chief Phil Parkinson said: “Some of the football they played was out of the Premier League and not the Championship.”
