Find the cat snatchers!

Eagles in flap over the scraps

- By Rachel Spencer By Tony Whitfield

A CAT snatcher is thought to be on the prowl after four pedigree pets vanished without a trace even after their owner hired a private detective.

Danella Scott and Ruth Wadsworth are desperately searching for their missing Siamese cats.

The duo believe someone is “trapping them and taking them”, with the animals worth up to £1,000 each.

Danella, 47, is desperately searching for her cat Kobe, 18 months, who went missing on August 3.

She said: “We found his collar thrown on the floor in a nearby field, it looked like it had been taken off. “I’m convinced he has been stolen. I spent six hours a day searching for him on foot, plus £1,000 on a private detective and £500 on adverts.

“No one has seen him. Myself and my husband Simon and our son Casey are devastated. We don’t know where to turn.

“Kobe was such a fast runner, and a big cat. He would come if I called him but a stranger couldn’t just pick him up. I am convinced someone has trapped him and taken him.” Danella, from Shipbourne, Kent, has found support from fellow owner Ruth, who has lost three Siamese cats and lives in a neighbouring village.

Ruth, 57, lost her first cat Chiku, a seal point Siamese, in July 2014 after it went exploring in fields behind their home.

Then, in 2017, Ruth got two new cats, brothers Jamba and Tico. But in October 2018, Jamba went missing too. His collar was found in a neighbour’s garden. Then, on August 14, 11 days after Kobe vanished, Tico disappeared too.

He went off in the rain playing in nearby fields and his tracker stopped sending data just 200 yards from his home. Ruth has checked nearby CCTV and

TWO eagles went talonsto-talons in a spectacular mid-air duel.

The white-tailed eagles fought over which should be first to feast on a carcass near the River Vistula in Poland.

During the battle the birds of prey made swooping attacks against each other, exposing their talons as they collided.

It ended with the youngest sent plummeting to the ground and having to wait for leftover scraps while the victor had its fill.

White-tailed eagles can be spotted across Europe. They have a wingspan of almost 8ft and are the UK’S largest bird of prey.

They were reintroduced in the 1970s after being hunted to extinction in the 19th century.there are

130 breeding pairs across Scotland and six young birds were released on the Isle ofwight this summer. carried out the same checks she did with Chiku and Jamba.

She said: “I wish I knew what happened. There’s no closure. I’ve never had a call from a vet or a council worker saying they’ve found a body.”

Danella is convinced Kobe is still alive and has been taken and said she won’t give up hope.

She said: “I believe someone is trapping them and taking them. Siamese cats are worth up to £1,000 each and they don’t just wander off.

“The detective we hired told us that if he couldn’t trace him then he must be dead. But I’m not convinced. I won’t stop until I know what has happened.”
