Father and daughters cast out of the ‘firm’

- By Kate Williams ROYAL HISTORIAN

THE survey conducted by the Sunday Express finds 72 per cent of us think Andrew should talk to the authorities about his associations with Jeffrey Epstein and 60 per cent say he has damaged the monarchy.

It’s no secret that Charles aims to move the institution forward focused on him, his sons and their children.

Previous royal events have seen the whole “firm” on the Buckingham Palace balcony. But the 2012 Jubilee was limited to the Queen and Charles’s family – Camilla, William, Kate and Harry (the Duke of Edinburgh was unwell).

Andrew was annoyed and has fought back. He believes his daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, as the “princesses of the blood” of their generation should have greater roles and deserve all the royal trappings, including grand royal weddings. Now, all that seems over.
