Craig raps viewers over same-sex dance routine
STRICTLY judge Craig Revel Horwood has blasted viewers who were offended by the show’s recent same-sex routine, saying: “They should watch something else.”
After pro dancers Johannes Radebe, 32, and Graziano Di Prima, 25, performed together the BBC had 189 complaints.
Craig said: “Strictly gets between 10 million and 13 million viewers. So to have 189 complaints out of that is not bad.
“I don’t even know what percentage that is. It must be 0.000001 per cent. I don’t think we should take them seriously.
“I’d tell them to switch over if they don’t like it. They should watch something else.”
Strictly bosses are rumoured to be planning the show’s first same-sex pairing for next year’s series.
STRICTLY head judge Shirley Ballas says she feels “like a teenager” after falling for a younger man.
But the 59-year-old has said she gets angry when actor Dannytaylor, 47, is referred to as her “toy boy”.
The couple right met while starring in Jack And The Beanstalk last Christmas in Liverpool. Shirley said her life has
“done a U-turn”.
Craig, 54, has warned those who disagree will have to get used to the idea to keep on watching.
He said: “It was important that the show did the same-sex dance, absolutely. It was really important.you can’t let complaints stop
BRUNO TONIOLI was called “a man of many talents” as he opened last night’s Strictly singing Can’ttake My Eyes Off Ofyou.
The judge was joined by pro dancers in an upbeat routine.
Host Claudiawinkleman joked “That was just the right amount of understated we needed after Blackpool.” But ontwitter Bruno right was called “Tonsils”tonioli for being out of tune.
same-sex dances happening. Sorry, but we’ve been fighting for gay rights for centuries.
“So people have to get used to it or turn over.”
Last week fellow judge Bruno Tonioli, 63, slammed the complainers on social media.
He said: “I know I shouldn’t let this upset me, however, it’s just really sad to read this.”
In another post, he added: “It’s hard to believe after such progress
in society and many other topics going on that people felt so upset they complained when two men danced with each other.”
Pro dancer Kevin Clifton, 37, said: “What on earth were they complaining about? It was ace.”
BBC chiefs have remained defiant, saying Strictly is an “inclusive” show and that Johannes and Graziano were dancers whose “sex had no bearing on their routine”.
