GETTING THERE:
YOU DON’T have to be Caitlyn Jenner to get into Springbrook National Park, the sub-tropical jungle location for ITV’S I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Part of the ancient Gondwana Rainforests, the park – which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary as a Unescoworld Heritage Site – is just a 65-mile drive from Brisbane down the Gold Coast.
Many thousands of years ago the forest covered much of the continent and today its spectacular forests and breathtaking waterfalls are home to many species of exotic plants and wildlife.
While you won’t be allowed to camp in Dungay Creek, near the town of Murwillumbah – the actual site where the series is currently being filmed, you can pitch your tent at the settlement, the only camping area in the park, provided you get a camping permit and pay the fees.the site is also suitable for campervans and camper trailers but plan accordingly as you won’t be able to buy petrol in the park.
