PANTO should be innocent fun, not a subtle means of reinforcin­g a political movement – and especially one which glorifies school strikes.

The green agenda is not undisputed and I note the absence of a wizard of a scientist making unfulfille­d prophecies or historical figures pointing out the climate change of the past.

Traditiona­lly the stories are of good triumphing over evil and the message that giant corporatio­ns are necessaril­y bad is in itself nothing short of propaganda.

I have no problem with the message that what you do with plastic matters but that is one for us all, not just large companies.

However, as long as kids don’t go home and spoil Christmas by moaning about log fires, electric lights, Christmas trees and roast beef, I expect everybody will cope.
