Taking credit for a tropical twist

BRITISH dried fruits and seeds importer Ozgurtarim is aiming to diversify with the launch of new tropical lines in 2020, after providing the festive filling of millions of pies, puddings and cakes, writes Maisha Frost. The Essex-based firm which supplies manufactur­ers and bakers launched in 2017 with a £2million credit packet from Lloyds that has enabled it to bulk source and fuel its rapid growth. It is forecastin­g a £26 million turnover next year and has a UK market share of 22 per cent.

Ozgurtarim managing director Marcuswelc­h said it now has plans to diversify, with new lines of tropical fruits from South Africa and Chile.
