A friend is passing by the shop, So Rupert waves and calls out, “Stop!”

But Tigerlily has not heard,

She just walks by without a word.

When Rupert has finished his shopping he stops by the toy shop. As he is gazing in the window he hears the light footsteps of one of his friends.

Without turning his head he calls out: “Stop a minute. The sight of this ball has reminded me of such a queer thing that happened to me on Christmas morning. I must tell you of it.”

But the footsteps go steadily past and there is no answer.

“Why, it’s Tigerlily, the Conjuror’s little girl,” says Rupert.
