Youngsters aspire to a career in video games

MORE than half of children would choose a career in video games over being a lawyer, doctor or even a profession­al footballer, research from Barclays says.

It said that of the 8 to 18 year-olds it surveyed, 68 per cent said they would rather work in a job that somehow involved video games over becoming a lawyer, while 58 per cent preferred it to becoming a doctor or nurse.additional­ly, 56 per cent said they would prefer to work in the games business than become a profession­al athlete.

More than 60 per cent of youngsters said that their favourite hobby is video games, which is one of the UK’S most successful sectors.the global smash hit Grand Theft Auto V was produced in the UK, grossing more than $6 billion (£4.6 billion) worldwide.
