Love Island is dogged by tragedy

-

LOVE Island has been hit by a string of tragedies.

In 2018, former beauty queen Sophie Gradon, 32, who had suffered from depression and anxiety, took cocaine and alcohol before killing herself.

She was found at her home in Ponteland, Northumberland, by boyfriend Aaron Armstrong, 25, who took his life 20 days later. Former footballer Mike Thalassitis, 26, who found fame as “Muggy Mike” on the show, was found dead in a park near his home in north London, in March last year.

There were calls for the show to be axed, but ITV said it would improve care procedures during and after filming.

Now, after the death of Caroline, left, ITV may face more difficult questions.

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes tweeted yesterday: “Has to be repercussions for Love Island now surely?”
