It’s rubbish to claim The Chase is rigged, says quizzer Mark
MARK LABBETT has blasted claimsthe Chase is rigged to stop contestants winning.
Furious fans have claimed that the ITV game show’s quizzers get easier questions and extra time on the clock. And they regularly brand it a fix in online rants.
The comments have angered Mark, known on the show as the Beast, who is adamant there is no foul play onthe Chase.
He said: “On social media 95 per cent of the people saying The Chase is rigged are on there anonymously.they write an awful lot of rubbish and it’s often from accounts without any name attached.
“It’s so easy for J Bloggs with a blank profile picture to say it’s a fix. But when you ask them to explain how, they can’t. No one has ever investigated it or put in a complaint to Ofcom.”
Show bosses insist the quizzers have no unfair advantage over contestants. And according to Mark, there are systems in place to make sure everything is above board. He said: “I’m 54 but I’m still one of the fastest quizzers in the world. If anything, the show is weighted in favour of contestants.”
