TODAY women across the world will be marking International Women’s
Day, a chance to reflect on the progress made and the battles still ahead to be taken as seriously as men.
And today we’re unveiling a new fund to provide 10 female inventors with £50,000 each to develop solutions for climate change, energy efficiency and health issues, ensuring we continue our country’s proud history of women leading the way on scientific innovation.
The Conservatives are determined to break down barriers for women everywhere, because armed with the right tools there’s no limit to what people can achieve. While this Government works to build a brighter future for women and girls everywhere, as party chairman I want to continue to lead by example and ensure more women than ever get involved in politics. I’ll make it my mission, as I travel the length and breadth of the country, to encourage more women to take the leap.
