A COUPLE who had to cancel their big dream wedding next month due to the coronavirus crisis have held a far smaller ceremony... at St Pancras train station.

Claire Zinsner, 36, who is British, chose the Eurostar terminal for herself and Frenchman Matt, 39, because it symbolised their nationalities.

After marrying in front of two pals and station staff, they shunned “kissing the bride” for the elbow-to-elbow greeting made popular by the virus. Matt then leaned in for an embrace.

Claire, who is head of Stteresa’s girls school in Effingham, Surrey, had arranged the ceremony at the London station’s Searcys restaurant within 24 hours as a surprise for hospitality worker Matt. She said: “It was not the wedding either of us imagined – it turned out to be far better than that.” gestures of kindness from the public who are helping to ease the load.

Thanks a million, NHS workers: we love you.
