Fears grow Meghan will publish her tell-all diary

- By News Reporter

FEARS are growing in royal circles that diaries written by the Duchess of Sussex during her time in the UK could pave the way for an ”explosive” memoir.

She referred to the journals while she was discussing depression with American teenagers for their school podcast last week.

And it has stoked fears that Meghan, 39, will one day make them public, potentially rocking the Royal Family.

Royal author Margaret Holder said: “If there are royal secrets to spill, Harry will know them and so will the wife he treats with such devotion.

“Meghan may hold her fire for now but I believe the chance for payback against those she saw as her enemies may be too powerful to resist.”

The Duchess spoke about her diary while she was talking about ways of coping with personal trauma and anxiety as she chatted to the young presenters of the Teenager Therapy blog.

She had earlier claimed in the same podcast that she became “the most trolled person in the world” during her time in the Royal Family.

But as she was asked about her way of dealing with criticism, she told how she writes everything down so she can read it later.

She said: “For me, I think journaling is a really powerful thing. It allows me to reflect on where I’ve come from and, with that, comes a lot of perspective.

“Sometimes when you’re going through something, it feels like the biggest thing in the entire world and then you look back on it in a year and, you know, it’s still big, it wasn’t that big.”

She added: “When you have some perspective, that is only visible when you have people to check you with that, right?

“Maybe it’s something about your friends that you’ve written down to remind you of them.

“I think that’s really valuable so that everything doesn’t become insurmountable. So, there’s always a way to overcome

‘This could be so damaging’

something.” Speaking in detail about the diaries for the first time has set some nerves on edge in royal circles. It is feared the Duchess has written down intimate details of her behindthe-scenes struggles with other royals before she and Prince Harry quit for a new life in the United States.

One source said: “If she’s written down half of what went on in the past four years it could be explosive. A first-hand journal written personally by the Duchess in her own name could be so damaging. Even if she has no plans now, it could emerge at another time.”

The Duke and Duchess are preparing to appear at the Time100 Talks event on Tuesday where they will speak to celebrity friends about the dangers of social media.

The Duchess wore Princess Diana’s £17,800 Cartier watch in a new black and white photo to publicise the event.
