‘I’ve learnt to love myself and embrace my flaws,’ says star Helen Flanagan
CORONATION Street star Helen Flanagan says motherhood has helped her overcome problems with anxiety.
The 30-year-old actress is now pregnant with her third child with footballer fiance Scott Sinclair.
Their eldest daughter Matilda is now five while second daughter Delilah is two, and Helen admits that the responsibilities of becoming a mother has transformed her life. Now, though she’s battling extreme morning sickness, she’s looking forward to giving birth a third time before one day getting back to work on the TV cobbles she left in 2018. She said: “I’ve had my struggles [with anxiety] but my daughters and Scott inspire me to be the best person I can be and focusing on them really helps. “Being on Corrie has totally changed my life too. I’ve played Rosie Webster since I was nine and it has given me a real confidence and sense of security.
“I would love to go back to the soap. It was a massive part of my life and I really miss the excitement of filming, going in and seeing the makeup girls and the cast.
“I’ll definitely go back at some point, it’s just a question of when.” Like many parents, Helen had her hands full over lockdown. “I’ve learned to love myself, embrace my flaws and I feel comfortable with who I am and how I look,” she said. Earlier this year she announced on Instagram that she no longer plans to edit her pictures as she wants to set a confident example to her daughters.
She said: “It’s important to me to show a positive image that hasn’t gone through a filter.” Helen has launched her own bras and loungewear with lingerie brand Pour Moi – now available at pourmoi.co.uk.
She added: “I did the shoot while I was pregnant, I was proud to do so and none of the pictures were retouched. I’m really pleased with this collection. There’s something for everyone.”
