Kids just toying with us

I know just what Jennifer Selway means in her column (October 11).

When my granddaughter was very small (she is now 12) she had a big Noddy book, with a picture of Toytown on the inside cover. She pointed to the train going over a bridge and said, “train train, choo choo train”. Yes Jennifer, she must have been humouring me, and I told this tale to someone only the other day.
