Sam: I miss fans’ abuse

- By Neil Moxley

SAM JOHNSTONE will know when West Brom have adapted to life in the top flight – he’ll hear it.

The Baggies keeper says the absence of crowds means he is tuning in to the commentary box – but only when he is not at the centre of the action.

Ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Burnley, Johnstone said: “Without the crowd I can hear the radio and television people doing their commentary. So, yes, the more I hear them the better we’ll be doing.”

He even misses the traditional baiting from punters behind him.

Johnstone, 27, added: “I get a lot of abuse obviously. It’s part of football. It creates the atmosphere. You miss them abusing you.”
