HE’S become rock’s nice guy but this celebration of his hometown’s angry signature sound shows Coops can still raise the dead. It mixes new cuts, some recorded with the original Alice Cooper band, alongside covers of Motor City’s Bob Seger and MC5.

WHAT’S happened to female presenters on BBC entertainment shows? They’ve vanished. Are they hiding under a dusty Blankety Blank set? In a trailer for upcoming shows, we had Danny Dyer, Gordon Ramsay, Alexander Armstrong, Richard Osman and Romesh Ranganathan. In prime-time entertainment I can only think of Claudia Winkleman, otherwise the cupboard is bare. Maybe Mel & Sue’s “new” Generation Game, which was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons, made the BBC think again. However, dear Romesh will probably welcome a break from his many formats soon.
