Eagles eye Blade

- By Tom Hopkinson

CRYSTAL PALACE are in the hunt for Sheffield United star John Lundstram.

The midfielder,

27, is set to leave Bramall Lane when his contract expires in the summer and will be available on a free.

A number of

Premier League clubs, including Burnley, have expressed an interest in the player.

But Eagles boss Roy Hodgson is looking at a major overhaul in the close season, when a number of his key men will be out of contract, and Lundstram is high on his list of targets.

A HAT-TRICK of tries from Siva Naulago denied WORCESTER a shock victory at Sixways and extend the lead of BRISTOL at the top of the table to six points.

With eight minutes remaining, Callum Sheedy scored a touchline conversion to Naulago’s third to give Bristol a

24-23 bonus-point victory and condemn Worcester to an 11th successive defeat.

Andy Uren was Bristol’s other try-scorer. Perry Humphreys and Francois Venter scored for Worcester.

Sam Simmonds (right) notched his 13th try of the Premiership season as champions EXETER fought back to sink BATH 38-16.

Simmonds, who continues to be overlooked by England boss Eddie Jones, could not fail to have impressed watching

British and Irish Lions chief Warren Gatland.

The Exeter No.8 needs only four more touchdowns to equal the Premiership tryscoring record for one campaign.

A late penalty from Billy Twelvetrees gave 14-man GLOUCESTER a nail-biting 20-19 victory at WASPS that lifted them off the bottom of the table.

The Cherry and Whites had to withstand the loss of Ollie Thorley to a red card in the first half but still led 17-0 at half-time.

It looked as though they were going to suffer yet more heartbreak when Josh Bassett’s try completed a stirring fightback from Wasps.

But they emerged on the right end of a tight scoreline thanks to Twelvetrees’ 78th-minute strike.
