OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has slammed the door on Sergio Aguero joining Manchester United. Solskjaer believes that loyalty comes before everything in football – and the United boss insisted he has no interest in Aguero becoming the first Manchester City player in 25 years to move to Oldtrafford, as he aimed a thinly-veiled attack ontreble team-mate Peter Schmeichel for joining the Blues.

Aguero, City’s record goalscorer, is available for free after confirming he will leave The Etihad when his contract expires in the summer – and he wants to stay in the Premier League.

But Solskjaer said: “When I played for Man United, if a rival club tried to sign me and I had gone...well, where’s the loyalty? Loyalty is one of the values I really, really put highly.

“I wouldn’t expect any player who has played for a club for 10 years to want to go to their local rivals.

“It’s not for me. I know we’re professionals but when you play for Man United you don’t go to Man City.

“We’ve had examples of that and I didn’t really agree with it. I won’t name names but you all know who I mean. Enough said.”

Aguero has scored eight derby goals in his decade with City – onlywayne Rooney, Francis Lee and Joe Hayes scored more. Carlos Tevez moved from United to City in

2009, seven years after Schmeichel joined the Blues.

MANCHESTER UNITED aren’t taking a risk with Marcus Rashford, insists Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The striker (left), who hopes to face Brighton today, missed England’s three

World Cup qualifiers last month after limping out of the FA Cup quarter-final defeat at Leicester.

Rashford, 23, has looked out of sorts in recent games and his management team say he has not been fully fit for two years.

The England star has suffered shoulder and foot injuries but Solskjaer says he is “resilient and robust”– and United aren’t exposing him to danger. “I don’t have any concerns about Marcus’ general fitness at all,” said the United boss.

“Every footballer carries a bit here and there. Very seldom do you say you’re 100 per cent fit.

“I’ve been impressed by his resilience and robustness. He wants to play.

“Even if he feels something, he doesn’t want to miss games because he loves Man United and football too much to dip out.

“There has never been a risk that we felt will damage him. It is just the way it is when you’re a professional footballer with a game every three or four days.”
