No, Mr Bond, I expect you to drive...away with £20,000 007 Mini Moke

-

THE hefty price tag on the Aston Martins in the much-stalled new James Bond film may be beyond the reach of most 007 fans.

But there is still hope to Live and Let... err drive, for those who want to get behind the wheel of a car used by their spy hero.

US motoring firm Moke has released a new model based on one driven by Roger Moore in 1973’s Live And Let Die.

For around £20,000 you can have the 007 Moke San Monique, an electric replica of the white and blue model Moore was seen in for 10 seconds on the fictional Caribbean island of San Monique as he battled the evil Mr Big.

It has got gadgets to please Q-branch too, including a reverse camera and Bluetooth radio, with 1970s-style wood steering wheel and gear stick.

However, you are unlikely to outrun every villain.the Moke has a range of 40 miles and a top speed of just 25mph. And you’ll need to be quick to snap up this made-to-order limited edition as the firm expects huge interest.

Bond nostalgia is set to soar later this year when Daniel Craig’s last outing, No Time To Die, is finally released on

October 8.

The Moke, based on a Mini chassis, was popular in the 1960s after it was originally marketed for the Armed Forces. It became a cult car after featuring intv show The Prisoner.

As in Live And Let Die it was useful in hot climates given its hood roof and lack of doors.

If you still fancy driving like a modern 007, then you may need a forgiving bank manager.

In Notimeto Die, Craig drives a series of Aston Martin models, with the priciest the new DBS Superleggera. It is being limited to just 25 cars worldwide, each costing around £280,000.
