NO TIME TO BUY

Bond boots sell out in minutes as fans race to snap up £8,820 outfit before film’s release

- By Mike Parker

JAMES BOND wannabes have blown nearly £9,000 to fully re-create 007 star Daniel Craig’s commando outfit in his final blockbuster as the world’s most famous spy.

The remaining items to complete the look went on sale last week: a pair of £45 braces, combat trousers costing £245 and boots priced at £170. But the boots sold out in minutes meaning there’s no more time to buy the full set of official No Time To Die tie-in gear.

Without the watch, we arrived at a total cost of £940 to snap up every item that makes up Bond’s outfit.

The iconic Omega Seamaster 300M watch, a returning favourite from previous 007 adventures, would add another £7,880 to the bill.

Hollywood costumier Nikki Cobb said: “It’s the flip side of his elegantly-tailored suits, or those dinner jackets 007 would wear to the casino... it’s a look that can also be easily copied much less expensively.”

In America, some admirers are adding a finishing touch... the secret agent’s favourite gun.

Sales of the Walther PPK 7.65mm semi-automatic pistol are booming in gun stores.the boss of one in Rapid City, South Dakota, who sold a second-hand version on Thursday for $549 (about £400) said: “These guns don’t usually sell much – but there’s a boom right now thanks to Mr Bond.”

Arms writer Chris Baker said: “There are much better options available…. unless you’re a collector or an avid James Bond enthusiast.”
