Notre Dame set to rise from ashes
Fire-ravaged Notre Dame Cathedral is finally stable and secure enough for rebuilding work to begin.
Work to shore up the medieval Parisian landmark after flames tore through its roof, sending its spire crashing through the vaults below, has now been completed, officials said yesterday.
It began the day after the fire on April 15, 2019, and resulted in an army of construction experts and climbers working to make the building safe.
The agency responsible for the reconstruction said it was on track to reopen the cathedral by 2024, when France hosts the Olympic Games.
