Man dies in city centre stab attack

A MAN has been stabbed to death in a street in Sheffield city centre.

Southyorkshire Police were called on Friday to reports that a man had sustained “serious injuries” in an attack in High Street at 4.30pm.

He was taken to hospital but died at 5.15pm. A man in his 30s has been arrested, the force said.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the attack to come forward.

A spokesman said: “If anyone saw what happened or has any information that might help our officers, please call 101 quoting September 17.”
