Fred: Stop us going down pan

TV star Fred Sirieix has demanded that the Government take action to solve a staffing crisis that has “obliterated” the hospitality industry.

The French maître d’hôtel, known for First Dates, said: “It’s crazy. Nothing is being done.”

Saying the sector must be promoted as an “exciting” job choice, the 49-year-old added: “When I was 16, I never wanted to work in an office… I wanted to work in premier league restaurants.”
