NUNO WILL SHINE IN SPURS JOB
NUNO ESPIRITO SANTO will soon prove the doubters wrong at Tottenham after the club’s ‘dire’ performances under Jose Mourinho.
That’s the belief of former Spurs winger Darren Anderton (below), who admits he’s excited to see the impact Nuno can make.
The Portuguese was drafted in this summer following a four-year stint with Wolves.
His appointment raised some eyebrows amongst the north London faithful but
Santo won his first three games in charge before the side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last week.
Anderton, who made over 350 appearances for the club, said: “I’m excited to see what he can do, if he’s given time.
“Under Jose Mourinho, it was disappointing. It was dire to watch and that’s okay if you win trophies and win matches – but that wasn’t happening either.
“Santo was such an important appointment and they got the right man.
“People say that he wasn’t first choice but he is a top manager. I love the way that his teams play football.”
