MY BOWEN NOT GOING

Moyes cools chat

- Harry PRATT REPORTING By David Lynch

DAVID MOYES dismissed talk ofwest Ham star Jarrod Bowen being a target for the Premier League elite, insisting: ‘He’s at a top club’. To the surprise of many, the ex-hull forward, 24, was heavily linked with a £30million summer move to Liverpool.

And, ahead of the Reds’ visit to the London Stadium today, anfield boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed he is a huge admirer of Bowen (right), who has cracked three goals in his last seven outings.

However, according to Hammers manager Moyes, the player does not need to join a big club – because he is with one already.

Asked about the transfer speculation surrounding

Bowen, the Scot replied:

“Well, he’s at a top club.

“It’s about the level of consistency Jarrod now needs to bring.we are trying to up his goals and his assists, all these things.and with Said

Benrahma as well.

“You’ve got to remember they’ve both come out of the

Championship. It’s a really good grounding for them.they are hungry to succeed, desperate to get better, desperate to improve their finishing.”

A fact borne out by their flourishing partnership either side ofwest Ham’s main hitman, Michail Antonio. Between them, the trio have bagged 16 goals in all competitions this term.

Not that Moyes would rank them alongside Liverpool’s Fab Three of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and

Roberto Firmino.

He said: “I don’t think we can compare with Liverpool’s because they have done it at the highest level consistently well, scoring numerous goals.

“But we have a front three who can all contribute bits – and have been all season.they each bring something different.”

KLOPP: HENDO THE REAL DEAL

JURGEN KLOPP dismissed suggestions Jordan Henderson had anything to prove this season after signing a new deal.

Henderson (below) extended a decadelong stay at Liverpool by penning a new four-year contract over the summer – though his manager does not believe he is using that reward as extra motivation.

Klopp said: “Hendo is essential to all the things we achieved in the last few years so he had no point to prove.

“If anybody thinks he didn’t play a good season last season he was injured in the last part of the season, which was very unlucky – but before that he helped us in three different positions pretty much.

“We had a tough year, all of us, and the decisive period he could not be involved because of injury.

“Then, he went to the

Euros and was not involved as much because of the injuries before.

“But he hasn’t got a point to prove and I never want to give him that feeling.”
