RESISTANCE 1942
You’d think that screenwriters would have exhausted all fresh angles for the Second World War movie. But hot on the heels of Munich: The Edge Of War comes a story of pirate radio in occupied France.
Rebel DJ Jacques (Cary Elwes) is keeping the home fires burning by broadcasting rebellious speeches from his attic hideaway. When a pirate-hunting Nazi (Sebastian Roché) closes in, Jacques and his comrades seek shelter in the Cote d’azur villa owned by Jason Patric’s sympathetic Swiss banker. Sadly, the intriguing premise is let down by duff dialogue, variable acting and sizable plot holes.
