- GARRY BUSHELL

Kent-born Angela OBE, 54, is a Michelin-starred television chef best known for her appearances on BBC Two’s Great British Menu.

What was your first TV memory?

The Clangers and then Grange Hill which felt quite exciting growing up.

Also seeing Seb Coe win the 1500 metres at the Olympics.

What was your first TV appearance?

The first Hell’s Kitchen on ITV. It was great fun working with Gordon [Ramsay] and mad celebrities like Al Murray and Amanda Barrie. We were surprised they were quite good at cooking.

Who was your first TV crush?

John Taylor in Duran Duran on Top Of The Pops.

What is your favourite current show?

This year it’s been Happy Valley. It was superb – you couldn’t guess the outcome. Wonderful writing and acting.

Which TV show would you take to a desert island?

It would be a toss-up between Seinfeld – I love the humour – and The West Wing. It’s a brilliant show, an insight into US politics;

Martin Sheen is amazing. I’ve watched it so many times I could recite the dialogue.

What TV show would you like to put out of its misery?

The worst reality shows. I got addicted to Traitors but I can’t abide the ones that humiliate people.

Guiltiest TV pleasure?

If I’m at my mum’s house flicking through the channels and Come Dine With Me comes on, I’ll watch because it’s a bit of a car crash. I quite like Midsomer Murders.

What are you up to at the moment?

Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw. We invite guests, I cook their favourite food, Nick does the drinks and we chat to them. It’s like having people round your home.

Series 3 of Dish from Waitrose & Partners, hosted by Nick Grimshaw & Angela Hartnett, is available on all podcast providers.
