Farage to tell Brussels more will leave EU

- By David Williamson

NIGEL Farage will say Britain will not be the last country to leave the EU when he returns to Brussels this week – his first visit since Brexit.

The EX-UKIP leader will speak on Tuesday at a National Conservatism conference, where ex-home secretary Suella Braverman will also give a talk.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, condemned for his position on issues ranging from gay rights to Ukraine, will take the stage as well and meet Mr Farage.

Former MEP Mr Farage will tell attendees: “I’m here to encourage you all in June’s European Parliament elections. We won our battle and left these undemocratic, bullying institutions. You have greater strength in numbers than we did...fight for the independent nation state, win these elections and shape a new democratic future for a Europe of nation states.”

Mr Farage has signalled that he will make a “big announcement” in the coming weeks, possibly linked to his role as honorary president of the party Reform UK, now at nine per cent in the latest Wethink poll.

He added: “Britain was the first country to break free of the EU but it won’t be the last – these upcoming elections are the start of that process.”

The European Council on Foreign Relations has predicted the June elections will bring about “a major shift to the Right in many countries”.
