Turmeric+, the spice of life
IT WAS ironic, really. Jacqui Hunter runs her own event management consultancy for the medical and pharmaceutical industries – but what she couldn’t manage were the problems with her knees. “I used to suffer with great discomfort in my knees and my neck, particularly when going up and down the stairs,” she remembers.
It was getting particularly distressing as Jacqui, 60, also leads a busy life outside work… golf, yoga, gardening and lots of travelling.
Luckily it was the travel that steered her in the right direction and she joined the growing number of people discovering that a product called Turmeric+ can help keep them active and living the life they love.
“I read about the benefits of turmeric three years ago,” says Jacqui, who lives in Northamptonshire. “I’ve spent lots of time in Goa where it is often used for medicinal purposes, so I was intrigued to learn more.
“Having a background in the pharmaceutical industry, I research products thoroughly and I really liked all the studies behind Turmeric+.”
Turmeric contains compounds called curcuminoids, the most notable of which is curcumin. It is responsible for turmeric’s dazzling yellow colour, and is also what makes it such a powerful spice.
Curcumin, however, is difficult for the body to absorb so the scientists at supplement creator Futureyou Cambridge used a Curcuma-phospholipid complex formulation to make Turmeric+ 30 times more absorbable than standard turmeric powder.
They also added vitamin C, which assists collagen formation for the function of cartilage, plus vitamin D, which contributes to the maintenance of bones and muscle function.
Discovering Turmeric+ was an event that managed to turn Jacqui’s life around. She says: “It has dramatically improved my flexibility and I’ve recommended it to lots of friends – when you find something that works for you, you want to help others too.
“It’s allowed me to continue to live the life I love… I’ve never looked back.”
