Ruth plugging Tesco meals for two after shock Eamonn split

- By Karen Rockett

LOOSE Women presenter Ruth Langsford is advertising supermarket “meals for two”, in the wake of her split from husband of 14 years Eamonn Holmes.

It comes as friends of GB News anchor Eamonn, 64, “rally around” to offer him their support, following the shock announcement last week.

After Ruth, also 64, took to Instagram on Friday to post a video of herself “cooking” a Tesco meal for two from their new summer range, one commenter wrote: “What’s poor Eamonn having?”

Last night, a source close to Eamonn said: “The last week has been really, really hard for him and for Ruth.

“They obviously share the same circle of mates but thankfully nobody is taking sides. Everyone is just incredibly sad about what happened and they just want Ruth and Eamonn to be OK.”

Former This Morning host Eamonn has suffered three years of chronic back pain,

meaning he uses a walking stick and he has occasionally relied on a wheelchair.

It was eventually discovered the problem was three slipped discs that affected the movement of his right leg.

But the source insisted: “Eamonn has had a really tough few years but he’s a survivor – write him off at your peril.

“There have been reports suggesting he’s been miserable and grumpy at work and ultimately just wants to disappear to live a quiet life back in Northern Ireland.

“The reality is that despite his mobility issues, Eamonn is still as sharp as he’s ever been. He’s still got a huge amount he wants to do and achieve, both personally and professionally.”
