Visualise your dreams for 2021 with these optimistic new scents, says beauty director Lynne Hyland

If lockdown’s fragrance mood was all about nostalgia, summer 2021 is firmly fixed on the future. Last year, we wrapped ourselves up in comfort blanket scents, from long-standing favourites to new fragrances that reminded us of old times. Now though, there’s a different feeling in the air – quite literally when it comes to perfume.

The world is changing, and although we’re not yet quite where we want to be (by a pool in St

Tropez, sipping mojitos, say), we’re daring to dream again. You only have to look at the wellness trends du jour – visualisation, manifesting – to see we’re all desperate to bend our little bit of the universe in the right direction. And perfume is part of that cosmic ordering vibe, with a raft of new fragrances tuned into the memories we want to make this year.

Spritz until it fits? Why not! Because hey, nostalgia, you’re so last year…
