How do I dump my “angel” girlfriend?

My girlfriend is an angel. Last year I was ill and she selflessly cared for me. The problem is that I don’t love her. I’m thankful, but I know I could have a more exciting life with someone else and I want us to break up. It feels very awkward when I know she adores me. How should I proceed?

Your girlfriend has to hear the truth. It’s cruel of you to keep her hanging on if you’re not serious about building a future by her side. She’ll be devastated, but

no more time can be wasted.

Good luck with finding what you wish for. Someone more “exciting” might not be as loyal or kind.
