Characterised by itchy, red, dry, sore and cracked skin, eczema is a chronic condition that can be physically painful as well as mentally damaging. According to Allergy UK, 88% of people with eczema say it affects their daily life.
“Atopic eczema is the most common type and affects 11-20% of children and 5-10% of adults in the UK – and prevalence is increasing,” says GP Dr Nisa Aslam from Typharm’s Skin Life Sciences Foundation.
