My husband’s had a hip replacement – and now wants loads of sex. He’s pain free, mobile and ready to go. This is something of an (unwelcome) shock for me because I thought our love making days were over.

How do I gently reject his amorous advances?

No one could blame you for feeling anxious or even a little rusty, but this should be an amazing time for you. Your husband is agile again and longing for your touch.

Can you go back to basics with romantic dates, kisses and “no-pressure” early nights? Tell him how you’re feeling; talk it through and make sex a priority again.

On the plus side, a revived sex life will leave you feeling cherished, invigorated and alive.
