Howler from Henderson

-

Sheff Utd 0 Leeds 1

THE last time Leeds won at Bramall Lane they were crowned champions of the old First Division and had a certain Eric Cantona in their line-up.

Fast forward 26 years and their latest success, albeit a fortuitous one courtesy of a goalkeeping howler from Dean Henderson (right) eight minutes from time, saw Marcelo Bielsa’s side top the table ahead of the day’s afternoon kick-offs.

The on-loan Manchester United keeper’s poor pass fell straight to Jack Clarke who laid the ball on a plate for Pablo Hernandez to slot into an empty net.

“If this game had ended in a draw it would not have been an unfair result,” said Bielsa.

And Blades boss Chris Wilder said: “It was a really good game and it was always going to be decided by a bit of magic or a mistake and, sadly for us, it was the last one.”
